Late afternoon kayak ride...

We had one of those Indian Summer days on the island today. This morning was so chilly I had on a sweater, tights, and boats and by the end of the day I could not wait to run home and change back into my summer gear.

I ducked out of school right along side the kids because the calm waters were just calling....

Millie and I hopped in the kayak and tooled around for a good hour and a half.

The seas were so calm...

And the sky was SO blue.

It felt nice to get out in the sunshine again.

We paddled around Manana...

And got far enough away from Monhegan that we could not hear a single voice... very lovely.

Heaven.

Millie is an excellent kayaking partner.

The sun was starting to go down.

And I was getting a bit chilly.

But it was hard to go in knowing this may be one of the last kayak rides of the season.

Happy pup.

Great way to end a work day.

Millie just wants to know when we get to go again!
